Lots of chicken!

Lately I realized that I have been eating lotssss of chicken. Every savory meal has some chicken it in. Today was no different. I had my banana and fiber cereal for breakfast earlier than normal because Wednesday has mixer in the morning! The class was tough and I really felt fatigued after! Always a plus! I had an adjustment at the chiropractor and then hung by the pool! I had an appointment at 2 so I grabbed a quick blueberry Chobani with some fiber cereal because it was super quick. After my appointment I made myself this lovely BH low salt chicken wrap. I used a WW tortilla with 3 ounces of chicken, baby spinach, tomato slices, along with some baby carrots. It was delish!

After taking Reilly for a fast paced 30 minute walk around the neighborhood on this b e a u t i f u l summer evening, I made myself some dinner. I ended up with 5 ounces of freshly grilled chicken, steamed carrots and broccoli, and a sliced tomato. I also had a pear for my sweet tooth and a sliver of cantelope. So far so good this week! I’m feeling great!

One last comment before the night is through- I’m thinking of going back to school for nursing. I’ve always wanted to do something in the medical field and each time I enter a doctor’s office or hospital, I begin to yearn for that profession once again. My freshman year I was a bio major and spent so much time studying. After that year was through I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it through the next 3 years of undergrad plus medical school, which is why I switched to teaching. I do enjoy teaching but at the same time I think I may enjoy nursing as well. I’m all over the place, always have been. I hope that I can find my true passion in life and hopefully get my career started. We shall see where I end up!

M.I.A. for wayyy too long!!

Wow it’s been wayyy too long since I’ve posted. Ironically now that I’m not working and have a lot more time to myself, I find myself busier and on the computer muchhh less. I’ve had quite the month of June. It was my worst month in regard to dieting and exercising. This past week/weekend my friends and I got food almost every single night after work and I just felt disgusting after it. Applebees half-price appetizers and 2fers are so delicious, yet TERRIBLE for me at 1 or even 2am.

I’m finally back on the wagon! I’ve been up and down some pounds and as of last Sunday I am up 5.2 from my lowest. I am determined to get this 5.2 off this week! I’ve been eating great and getting to the gym!

I also started going to the chiropractor. It’s a family chiropractor and they are the sweetest people ever (a husband and wife own the practice right near my house). They claim that they will be able to help me significantly with my butt pain. I hope they are right! Now that I’ve been going 3 times a week I feel like I can push myself a little harder in the gym because I have them to fall back on.

Last night I went to mixer and also got in 40 minutes on the treadmill earlier in the day. Today I didn’t get to the gym because I had a million and one errands to run and once I got back all I wanted to do was jump in the pool so I did! Here is a recap of some of my eats since I’ve been back on track this past Sunday:

Chicken, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, and mixed peppers! (Sunday’s lunch)

Steamed broccoli and carrots served with chicken! (Sunday’s dinner)

Simple- baby carrots and chicken! (Monday’s lunch)

Grilled chicken with baby carrots, tomato slices, mixed peppers, and a 6 ounce sweet potato! (Monday’s dinner)

BH low salt chicken cold cut sandwich on WW bread with baby spinach, tomato and baby carrots on the side! (Tuesday’s lunch)

Chicken with baby carrots, sliced tomato, and mixed peppers! (Tuesday’s dinner) I also had a white peach on the side.

It feels so good to be back on track. After a few days of back in the groove, I feel like my body is back to the way it was before I ate all that CRAP! Hopefully I will stay on track until my next cheat day on July 23rd for another bridal shower! Can you believe it’s July on Friday? I can’t!!

In other big news…my family got a new puppy! Her name is Darla and she’s a goldendoodle (golden retriever and poodle mix!). She’s adorable but is becoming such a little terror! She’s 11 weeks old! Reilly is so happy to have someone to play with finally! Below is a picture of them after playing for a good hour!!

I’m off for the night! I promise I will post regularly again, even if it’s once at night to recap the day! Night all!

Chicken Sammie!

What a lovely day it has been! I got a mani/pedi this morning. The guy who did it was awesome. He took his time and they came out great. I got a light pink color and I LOOVVEE it! For breakfast this morning I had my usual banana with fiber cereal. I took a quick trip to the chiropractor but my mom made a mistake with the appointment so it’s not until next Monday now. They are so sweet and very accommodating in that office. I wish all offices were like that because my gynocologist has some nasty office workers. I came home had a quick blueberry Chobani with 2/3 cup fiber ceral before my mom, sister, and I took a trip to see some puppies!! We’re on the search for a goldendoodle. They are adorable!! There was only one girl and one boy left. We want a girl for Reilly and this one had no personality, was very lazy, and we just didn’t get that connection with her so we’re going back Thursday when they get the next litter in!

Dinner was at 4pm tonight because I’m working 5pm-1am. I really wanted something better than this but we are very low on veggies so I didn’t have many options. I had a WW British muffin from TJs with a little brown spicy mustard, baby spinach leaves, tomato, and 6 ounces of grilled chicken. On the side was the rest of the tomato and some red pepper slices. I’m full now but I’m sure it won’t last that long! Tomorrow is weigh-in day! I’m super excited but I feel so bloated from my sunburn on Wednesday STILL! Hopefully it’s a good one! Tomorrow is also my friend’s shower so I’m taking the day off from counting calories. I’ll recap it on Sunday! Have a good weekend everyone!

Wednesday & Thursday Recap!

I don’t know what came over me but I forgot to blog yesterday, well kinda. I just had so much going on that it wasn’t on the top of my list. Anyway, I’m back to recap Wednesday and Thursday quickly before I pack my things to go to the fiancé’s for the night.

Lunch was quick and sweet before my job interview. I had 1/2 cup quick oats with a 1 cup mixture of fresh blueberries and raspberries. Delish. Oh and of course some cinnamon!

Dinner was quick once again. I got home late from food shopping at Trader Joe’s with a friend of mine who is trying to diet. I was teaching her some things that have been successful in my weight loss! Once I got home I made some steamed broccoli, carrots, and asparagus to eat with my WW egg white and turkey bacon tortilla. I switched it up a little today and used a garlic and herb laughing cow cheese wedge instead of my usual light swiss. I could taste the difference and enjoyed it!

Thursday was similar to Wednesday. I needed something quick and easy to make for lunch so I went with quick oats again. Today I had 1 cup of fresh blueberries with some cinnamon. Delicious!

I met with my academic advisor today and made my schedule for the fall. Because of the wedding I want to take as few classes as possible but I want to defer my loans. She claims I only have to take 2 (which is normal and what I thought) but she wasn’t totally sure. Anyhow I signed up for 2 classes (Tuesday 4:15-6:05 and Wednesday 6:15-8:05) that are totally going to ruin my gym schedule. I may have to try and get there in the morning but I highly doubt that would happen. Who knows!

Dinner Thursday night was a nice big salad made with romaine and fresh baby spinach. I added 6 ounces of freshly grilled chicken and 1 tbsp of parmesean cheese, along with some tomato, red pepper, and cucumber. It was very filling and I felt super healthy after eating it. I feel like I ate so many fruits and sweet things this week. I’m really hoping for at least a 1.2 weight loss. I’m at a huge milestone in my weight loss and that would make me a SUPER HAPPY DIETER!

This week I’m weighing in on Saturday because I have a bridal shower Saturday where I will be eating. I am working at night (bridal attending actually) so I will be running around all over the place. Hopefully I burn a good deal of those calories off! I am really going to try and not overdo it because I love the way I feel! My next cheat day isn’t until July 23rd!

Tomorrow I have a busy day- I’m starting the day with a mani/pedi. I have an appointment with the chiropractor finally! My mom is awesome and got a family plan so now I can go for “free” instead of paying 30 dollars per visit!!! I really hope that they can help me and I can get back to all the cardio I really want to do. I miss the treadmill, elliptical, kickboxing, etc. I want to start running again!!! Cross your fingers they can help me!

I also may be checking out a litter of puppies with my mom and sister. We all want another one since Reilly is simply the best. Not totally sure yet. Then I’m off to work at the catering hall from 5-1. Oh and I should hear back about my job interview. It’s a babysitting position with very ehhh pay but it’s something until September 1st. I’m still debating about it so we will see! Almost Friday!!! =]

Full Belly!

Yoga was pretty awesome today. I broke a mean sweat! I walked home after because my mom had another client and we drove together. It was about a 15 minute walk which inspired me to grab my pup when I got home and continue my walk with her! She lovessss going for walks so it made her day =]. Once we got home she followed me around to show her thankfulness!

Dinner tonight was supposed to be something exciting but ended up being super boring, well partly. I ended up with chicken, steamed veggies (broccoli, carrots, and asparagus), and a wonderful sweet potato which was the absolute best part of this meal. I think I would have been happy with four sweet potatoes instead of everything else! This was wayy too much food! My belly was super full after! I also had another cup of blueberry green tea!

After dinner my sister and I took a trip to Target to check some things out that I saw in the circular. I found a small kitchen table I love that would look great in our new apartment! It’s a perfect size for the two of us! I just have to convince Jhon that we should purchase it now even though we don’t move in until September 1st and have no where to store it!…We shall see how that conversation goes! In the mean time I’m off to relax with my love for the night! Happy Hump Day tomorrow!

Slightly different!

Today has been a relatively boring day. I feel so weird not having a job. I don’t really know what to do with myself. I ran some errands this morning and got rid of some clothes that were huge! Now I’m off to yoga in a few!

For breakfast this morning I opted for my normal banana with fiber cereal. I chose a less ripe banana because it was larger and kicked myself in the butt as I was eating it because it was NOT ready. Normally I like my bananas slightly unripe but this one needed one more day so tomorrow the bunch should be good! For lunch I made an open faced chicken sandwich on a WW British muffin. I added a small squirt of mustard to one side and it was delish. There were some carrots, tomato slices, and baby spinach added for my veggie intake! Slightly different than my normal sandwich but just as good! I also made a cup of blueberry green tea because it wasn’t particularly warm today.

Before yoga, I threw together a quick snack. A ginormous granny smith apple with a taste of some mango butter. I finally cracked it open and boy did it stink! Phewww I could barely stand the smell of it. Thankfully it tasted better than it smelt. Not as amazing as I thought it was going to be but I liked it. Off to yoga!

Mixer Monday!

I never used to like working out. Now I do; now I love it! I think I love the feeling after actually. Anyway, I woke up this morning knowing I would be going to mixer tonight and I was super excited!

For breakfast I had the usual banana and 2/3 cup TJs fiber cereal. My fiancé’s mother left some Puffins cinnamon cereal on the table and I was super tempted to have some of these, but I opted for my delicious breakfast. I totally forgot about Puffins cereal and how delicious and low calorie it is! I will definitely be eating some of these in the near future! I had a quick snack today of a Peach Chobani with 2/3 cup TJs fiber cereal for a snack before I got an hour long massage! Oh man, it felt sooo good! Before mixer I made this lovely snack- 1/2 cup quick oats with cinnamon and 1 heaping cup fresh raspberries! MMMM!

Mixer was great tonight! We all worked hard! A friend of mine, actually the lady who got married on May 27th, joined my sister and I! She is looking for a new gym to join to lose some extra pounds now that all the stress of the wedding is over. It was such a hard class and I thought she was going to be very overwhelmed but she actually enjoyed it! She did what she could and that was that!

After I got home from mixer, I made some grilled salmon again tonight. We had a huge piece left over because  I was the only one who had it last night. It came out just as good!   Tonight I had some baby spinach mixed in with my romaine lettuce, carrots, orange pepper, and tomato. Perfect dinner in my opinion!

Trader Joe’s Trip with Momma!

Today my mom and I took a trip to Trader Joe’s! She’s making a margarita & quesadilla gift basket for a friend of ours for her bridal shower! She wanted to pick up some extra things to throw in, like tortilla chips and some unique salsas.  The basket is coming out amazing because she is so creative!

Above is what I got for myself. My mom bought a ton of extra things not pictured.

–  TJs High Fiber Cereal (The cereal I eat almost EVERY morning!)

– Mango Butter (FINALLYYY!!!)

– Honey Apple Butter

– Vegetable Marsala Burgers (Never saw these but figured we would try them out)

– Edamame (out of the shell)

– Quick Eggs (for a recipe I’m making this week that egg whites won’t work with)

– Whole Wheat British Muffins

– TJs Electrolyte Enhanced Water

– Blueberry Pomegranate Green Tea (New!)

Weekend Recap!

What a fantastic weekend it has been. The third in a row! Nothing exciting happened to be honest…it was just a great weekend! I’m super excited to be off this entire week!! I really hope I can make it to the beach to get some color! Anyways, here I am to recap this past weekend before I head to bed!

My catering schedule was slightly different this weekend because I had to be into work at 4pm on Saturday, which meant dinner had to be around 3pm…wayyy too early! I ended up making a snack before dinner which was a Raspberry Chobani, 1 cup fresh raspberries and 1/2 cup TJ’s fiber cereal. It was sooo good and kept me full until dinner!

Below is what I had for dinner. Five ounces of chicken with a ton of fresh steamed broccoli and carrots, and some juicy cherry tomatoes. I put some garlic powder and red pepper flakes on this chicken but I wasn’t a huge fan of it. I managed to get it all down but it was just ehh. I think I honestly enjoyed the veggies more!

At work I brought 20 raw almonds and had a Blueberry Chobani. Both were delicious and kept me going! It was a busy night but once again I had no cravings!! After work, I went to Applebee’s with 10 coworkers and didn’t order anything, not like I would…I just got a water! I always feel like after watching everyone eat I should lose extra weight! haha

Sunday morning I woke up and couldn’t wait to weigh myself! I felt my body was changing this week and I was right! I was down 5.2 pounds! Now I’m down 56 pounds total! I can’t believe it. Before I know it I will be at my goal! AHHH! Because I woke up at noon, I had a rather large breafast of a Raspberry Chobani, 1 cup fresh raspberries and 1/2 cup TJs fiber cereal. It was sooo good! I don’t know why I love this combination so much. I ate the raspberries separately today because I just LOVEEE their taste!

Today I saw the movie Bridesmaids! I have not been to the movies since October, I think? Honestly, not even sure. I’m not a movie person at all! However, it was nice to see a movie with my girls because all of our lives have just become so busy! This movie was HILARIOUS! We laughed the entire time!! Definitely worth seeing! Once I got home I made myself a BH blazing buffalo chicken sandwich on 2 slices of WW bread with tomato, lettuce, and some baby carrots on the side.

My mom and I headed off to Trader Joe’s after hanging for a bit at home. I got a bunch of goodies which I posted under my Groceries link. I’ve been wanting TJs Mango Butter for months now and I finally got my hands on some! Can’t wait to try it with some oats!! For dinner, I made myself some salmon. Noone else wanted any so I cut a piece off of the large fillet and cooked it up on the grill for myself. I put this nice hearty 5.5 ounce of salmon over a romaine lettuce salad with cherry tomatoes and orange pepper! Perfection!

We finally got to see our friends Travis and Katelyn who got married May 27th. They just got back from their honeymoon so we went over for wings & margaritas. Of course I didn’t have any but I enjoyed the company! Now it’s past midnight and I’m getting sleepy! Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Egg white tortilla with veggies

For dinner last night, I made an egg white and turkey bacon tortilla with some steamed broccoli, orange pepper slices, and a sliced tomato. It was very filling, which is always a good thing.

Work last night wasn’t bad at all. The party went by super fast and I didn’t crave ANY foods! Sometimes I crave everything while I’m there and last night food didn’t even cross my mind! My boss even let us get ice cream from the ice cream station and I just drank my water! Love it!

Today has been a great day so far. I slept through the night without having to pee 15 times, well I woke up at 8am but that wasn’t bad at all. Mixer was great!! I was sweating like a beast. I don’t know if it was hot in the room or what, but I was DRIPPINGGGG! The weights were literally falling out of my hands. Great workout!

My dad finally made a trip to Costco so we have a ton of fresh fruits, veggies, and other goodies. I can’t wait to get my hands on those raspberries and cherry tomatoes! YUMMM!
